Designing a Sustainable Springfield Series
Presented by Larry Quenette and Jeff & Michele Sommers
Tuesday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Lincoln Public Library in Springfield
Larry Quenette of Renaissance Architects as well as Jeff and Michele Sommers of Square Root Architecture + Design will be sharing how their success and ideas in green design might translate into sustainable design for Springfield’s downtown.
About the speakers:
Larry Quenette is president and principal architect of Renaissance Architects in Springfield since 1986. The firm’s work includes designing facilities for churches and religious organizations, senior living, office space, banking, U. S. Postal Service and healthcare.
“I have a great interest in the revitalization of downtown Springfield as a property owner, a developer and an architect. There are many unrealized opportunities to improve this downtown.”– Larry Quenette
Jeff Sommers is the founding principal of Square Root Architecture + Design and a recognized industry leader in sustainable design and prefabricated construction. With his passion for architecture, building science and technology, Jeff set out to define a better way for marrying quality design with high performance and construction efficiency. In 2010, Jeff successfully built Chicago’s first prefab modular, LEED® Platinum, residence, known as the C3 Prefab, on the City’s near Westside.
Michele Sommers has over 20 years of consulting, operations, sales, marketing and leadership experience. She serves as Square Root’s Director of Operations, leading sales and marketing, and has been instrumental in gaining traction with a modular product in the Chicago market.
